Also got the Geek Squad 4 yr warranty. Asia Thompson, if its still the same then try one of this kind, and add external speakers if you dont want to get your hands to get dirty, or else open tour tv and find replacement of the speakers, Here is my story and how I fixed this issue, Tried taking scart leads out didn't have any effect also turning off at the mains no effect don't know what to do next, 04/11/2020 by The reason software version of the sound bar requires updating is because the unit is configured to deliver surround sound according to the source being played. Their fix for this is to use a lossy connection from the receiver to the A/V receiver or hook it directly to the television and use the television speakers. This fix is not acceptable to all of us who have paid for 5.1 sound systems or even good speakers which are hooked to the A/V receiver. This seems really simple, but you’d be surprised how often it’s an issue. Hi mantech123,I am sorry to read of your bravia audio problems, please email Sonylistens@am.sony.com for help. With no longer under warranty, and on a fixed income (now retired) I have to tolerate this nuisance. This problem exists in carrying the HD signal through the HDMI cable. If that fails to resolve it, try a factory reset, as mentioned above. I also have other issues switching inputs, and the built in tuner drops channels all the time. If I have any luck ill post it here. Only way to reset it is to turn the TV on and off while on that channel (and even this does not always work). This wasn’t happening in the beginning when I first got it now recently it started doing it. Thanks to all who posted resolutions to this problem. Intermittent audio can be electronics in the Review, bad cable or contacts, or the TV itself. Guess what, that didn't loose audio when the Sony did. Had it hooked to Direct TV Standard Def. I suggest that everyone who has this issue complain to Direct TV. I therefore suspect that some picture issues are a result of the software comparability with the HDMI connection. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=KDL52V5100&upd_id=6533&os_group_id=18, http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=KDL40V5100&upd_id=6529&os_group_id=18, Car Parts, Gadgets, & How-to's - Roadshow. Im going to contact the manufacturer of the components . I have absolutely no clue what it is with this TV as I cannot find any other posts with the same issue, but I'll be watching a movie or show on Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and out of nowhere, the sound just cuts out completely. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? We have just seen how to reset the sound on TV POLAROID TQL19R4PR002. My sonos was fine for about 1 week after purchasing but now the sound will cut out periodically. Same problems recurred. For some reason the sound keeps randomly cutting out, just for a few seconds at a time, when watching TV/Video from my laptop. This TV has a built in sound bar, so I would assume the TV and the sound bar are wired together, but I don't know. It all started around the time when we got a new router for our internet so I dont know if that is the problem. I thought it might be the channel. I checked the connections, and they are tight. I want to thank you for alerting us to this fix. This is probably what most people in this thread are complaining about. Try tapping the unit and seeing if the problem exhibits itself (or gets better). Brian Street, 03/24/2020 by Please post if anybody found a fix for this. After about 45 mins to 1 hour the sound just cuts out. It is EXTREMELY annoying. There will be a long delay till the warranty expires, then the middle finger. The Review has HDMI and Optical audio outputs. Then after 1 week they called me up telling they could find no major fault in the TV as to why the sound stops suddenly & that they have even changed the sound board in the rear as it is within warranty. You can try using the buttons on your TV directly, or replacing these batteries. This TV is not worth what I paid for it. Dropped sound happens on other channels from time to time? Too much money to be messing with a lemon. As it stands I think only a receiver would be the best fix. By your remarks, you obviously got a raw end of a deal w/ Sony. Please let us know. Hi,This is the same sound Issue I am experiencing...Even I have a Sony LCD..there is a same issue..why is this so..well no idea. Also did notice that the tv is a lot warmer than any other tv ever owned. Also, when I watching HD channel then switch to a regular channel the volume is so loud. Beverly Schneider. T.V. I called Dish repeatedly about losing the audio COMPLETELY for no longer than 30 seconds or so ONLY when watching HD channels.
